The Spirit of Ghostwood

If you stand in Old Montreal, and you are very still and very open, you will feel the ghosts. The energy of hundreds of generations of people—First Nations, Europeans, Canadians—passing their lives where you stand. The spirits live in artifact and art, in buildings and rituals, in the food and water. And if you’re very still, very open—you’ll understand you are a ghost of the same place, but a different time.

Arborite HPL is designed in Montreal, but it also carries the spirit of Montreal. The new Dusk Ghostwoodand Veiled Ghostwood designs embody the energy that transcends the corporal limits of time.

The term “ghost wood” is used generally to describe standing dead wood, or reclaimed wood. Wood whose beauty is softened and immortalized after life. Arborite’s Ghostwood designs are figured, but soft as if weathered by time. The tones are simple and muted- the spirit of the source species- with an undulating appearance that can blend in or stand out. Available in “Dusk” and “Veiled,” Ghostwood pays homage to the intrigue of the supernatural, to those moments when we sense the energy of other worlds.
